GW Women's Basketball has won three consecutive Atlantic 10 Regular Season Championships and two of the last three A-10 Tournament Championships. One of GW's most storied programs, the Women's Basketball team has won 16 Atlantic 10 Regular Season titles, including seven straight from 2002-08. The Colonials have amassed 22 postseason appearances in the program's history, with 17 NCAA Tournament berths, four Sweet 16 appearances and a trip to the 1997 Elite 8.
