The Center for Intelligent Systems Research (CISR) houses the Driving Simulator Laboratory where scientists study crash avoidance. Using a vehicle donated by General Motors Corp., researchers examine the human factors involved in motor vehicle accidents. CISR also has a truck-driving simulator used to study the effects of fatigue on driver performance. The Driving Simulation Laboratory is a partnership with the Federal Highway Administration.
