Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson accepts award at the National Geographic Society?s first ever Celebration of Exploration awards show.

In 2017, Lisner Auditorium played host to the National Geographic Society?s first ever Celebration of Exploration awards show. The event featured a galaxy of dignitaries, congressional officials, foreign ambassadors to the United States and explorers from around the world. A highlight of the evening was when astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson accepted an award from James Cameron, the Academy Award-winning filmmaker who also is known for deep sea explorations.
